External Item Descriptions:Encyclopedia heavily relies on this mod to auto-generate descriptions for modded items, so it is recommended to use them together.
Notes:
– While modded items are automatically added to the Encyclopedia, it is still recommended to add manual support if you want to display your item's item pools or more detailed descriptions than EID allows (due to limited screen space).
– If auto-generation is enabled, you may experience a brief lag spike the first time you open a submenu.
– All the Wiki entries in this mod were autogenerated using a Python script, and then reviewed by hand. So there might be a few broken entries—please report them if you spot any.
– The Status menu doesn’t display items in order of collection, because that would be literal hell on Earth to implement
– It is also recommended to manually add your own characters. It's really easy and doesn't take much time (way less than items, that's for sure!). Otherwise, there's a risk that the auto-generation won't properly capture your character's sprite or data.
IMPORTANT:
If the menu cannot be opened with the safe key [F1] or some wiki entries are missing, you probably got a download failure. The mod is pretty big and thus needs some time to properly copy over files when you launch it for the first time or during an update.
To fix it, follow these steps:1. Unsubscribe from the mod.
2. Go to C:\Users\user\Documents\My Games\Binding of Isaac Afterbirth+ Mods and delete the folder named Encyclopedia_2376005362.
—- 2 (REP): Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\The Binding of Isaac Rebirth\mods and delete the folder named Encyclopedia_2376005362.
3. Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\250900 and delete the folder named 2376005362.
4. Launch your game, and once the start screen loads, close it.
5. Resubscribe to the mod again.
6. Launch the game and DO NOT close it until the title screen loads.
Mods copy over files during the black screen when the game is launched. While it may look like the game froze or crashed, you need to wait until it loads properly. Otherwise, you will interrupt the process and get a download failure.
Localization
Sadly, the Encyclopedia won’t be localized, as that would mean manually translating and maintaining all wiki descriptions in other languages. Not only would that massively bloat the mod’s file size—making it unviable—but the biggest issue is that Dead Sea Scrolls (the menu library) doesn’t support special characters used in other languages.
I hope you understand.
