A Modern House

This is my very first house design in Starsand Island. The house itself is based on the "Intermediate Retreat" layout in-game because I'm too lazy for landscaping design, so I just built the main house and adjusted a little bit for the landscaping.

I recommend you buy an Intermediate Retreat Layout at Lexwood first, then place it down and dismantle it so that you can have enough nearly base resources for the homestead.

What is a layout and how do you use them?

A layout is a zip file containing all the data from a building or a component that you can save and export to share, or simply load later if you want to build something else on your current plot.

To use them you simply open the Build Mode in the game, go to Layouts and choose the one you want to build (provided you have imported one or got one from the ones in game).
You don't need to have all the furniture (if any) but you do need all the necessary materials, otherwise you won't be able to build it.
Layouts are restricted to the area where the original building was built. A building from Hopeland can't be built (using a layout) in the lake or the beach, and vice versa.
Loading a new layout will replace and delete everything you currently have on your land, so be careful before clicking Build.

If you prefer not to leave this site, the instructions are as follows:

Download the layout you want to use, but do not extract the contents from the zip file
2. Locate the Blueprints folder. On PC, it should be something like Users\YourName\AppData\LocalLow\SeedLab\StarsandIsland\steam\[SOME_NUMBERS]\Resource\BluePrint
3. Copy the zip file and paste it inside the Blueprints folder, and that's it, you're ready to go.
4. Launch the game, open Build Mode, go to Layouts, and if you did it correctly, your newly imported layout should be there in the Homestead category.

Disclaimer

Exporting and importing layouts is currently not officially supported. I haven't found any layout-related bugs myself, but you should do it at your own risk, just like modding any other game.
Back up your save before attempting any kind of modification.
I'll repeat this again (the game warns you too anyway): Loading a layout will overwrite your current buildings and replace them completely. Save your current homestead before loading a new layout.
