statregies to beat the bosses
Margit, the Fell Omen

Margit’s biggest challenge is his unpredictable attack speed—he may slowly wind up a club swing, then quickly strike with a light blade and toss it at you as he retreats. His throwing knives are especially disruptive when you’re trying to heal.
At around two-thirds health, Margit enters a more aggressive second phase, adding a light sword, hammer, and longer combos. Openings are rare, so avoid his four-hit combo. To make the fight easier, you can use Margit’s Shackle from Patches in Murkwater Cave to briefly stun him. You can also break his stance with jump attacks or skills like Square Off and Impaling Thrust for a critical hit opportunity.
Godrick the Grafted
Beware of his earthquake move, where he slams his axe twice, each hit creating a larger AoE shockwave, followed by a whirlwind that expands three times—ending with a spinning slam. While his normal attacks are easy to dodge, jumping attacks and skills work well.
At half health, he screams and slashes his arm—use this moment to deal damage before phase two begins. Immediately sprint to his right to dodge his flame arc. In this phase, he adds fire-based attacks with his dragon arm, an enhanced whirlwind, and a triple slam earthquake. You can summon Nefeli for help if you speak to her in a room right of the courtyard after defeating the Stormhawks.
Rennala, Queen of the Full Moon
In phase one, Rennala floats in a shielded cocoon. Break it by hitting three glowing child-like scholars, then attack her while she’s down. When she starts glowing, back off to avoid her AoE blast.
In phase two, she teleports you to a moonlit lake and fires powerful sorceries, starting with a deadly beam. Watch for fast-firing crystal shards, but note she staggers easily and is vulnerable to bleed. If the fight drags on, she’ll summon a shockwave and various spirits like wolves or a dragon. Use summons to distract her or the adds, and stay aggressive to keep her from casting freely.
Starscourge Radahn
Radahn is a tough but exciting boss due to his size, AoE attacks, and erratic aggression. After entering the arena, summon allies using signs while dodging his ranged attacks—use rubble for cover. Let your allies draw his attention before engaging.
Use Torrent to stay mobile. Ranged or poison builds can chip away safely, while melee players should ride in for quick hits after Radahn finishes his combos. Keep summoning allies as their signs respawn.
At half health, Radahn vanishes and crashes back as a flaming comet. Use this time to summon more allies and stay near the hillcrest for cover, especially when he launches his meteors. Stick with cautious hit-and-run tactics, especially on horseback. Avoid summoning co-op partners—it’s much harder without Torrent.
Morgott, the Omen King
Morgott is one of the toughest bosses, known for his speed, high damage, and wide attack arcs. Summoning Melina and spirit ashes like Oleg can help split his aggro during phase one, where he uses physical attacks like sword swipes, knives, and summoned light blades. This is your best window to deal damage and keep Melina alive for the second phase. Greatshields are useful here due to his physical damage.
At half health, he triggers an AoE blast and powers up his sword. His combos become longer, and red sword attacks signal powerful follow-ups—watch for his impaling rush or two-hit chain. Stay aggressive but strategic, managing aggro to protect summons. With practice, he becomes manageable. Margit’s Shackle also works on him for extra support.
Fire Giant
Stay on Torrent for the entire Fire Giant fight. His massive size and wide-range attacks rarely hit where he stands, so focus on attacking his targetable foot from underneath. Watch out for fire orbs, ground AoEs, and his sudden backstep slam.
In phase two, he fights on his knees. Attacking from behind his legs is safer, though he may roll to reposition. You can also bait his moves and strike his hands, but it’s riskier. Watch for his flaming pillar AoE and volcanic eruption—hide under him to avoid the latter. The fight isn’t too difficult, but his high health makes it a long one.
Godskin Duo
The Godskin Duo features two bosses—one slim, using magic and some melee, and one large, focused on close-range attacks and rolling. They share a combined health bar, and defeated members will revive if the bar isn’t fully depleted.
Mages can easily manage the fight using Comet Azur with Cerulean Hidden Tear for unlimited FP. Summon Spirit Ashes to distract them, then cast from a safe spot. Use pillars for cover and reposition to avoid aggro.
Melee builds should use Hoarfrost Stomp, which deals AoE damage through pillars. Stay behind cover and spam the skill to safely wear them down. This method avoids the risk of a direct fight.
Maliketh, the Black Blade
In phase one, stay close to the Beast Clergyman when possible and avoid his rock-throwing spells and fast combos. Use a summon to split aggro and finish him quickly to avoid a drawn-out fight.
Malekith is much tougher—fast, aggressive, and inflicts damage over time. His AoE attacks and projectiles are dangerous, so keep moving and rely on your summon for distraction. Focus on hitting from the side or behind when you get openings.
Hoarah Loux, Warrior
In this full version, he adds powerful stomping AoE attacks when low on health—jump to dodge and stay close to land hits with good timing.
At half health, he transforms into a fast, wrestling-style brawler with relentless combos and grabs. He hits hard but has low defense, so wait for openings after his grabs, combos, or stomps to deal damage safely.
Elden Beast

The Elden Beast is a single-phase fight, when not counting the lead-in fight with Radagon. This doesn’t mean it’s easy, though, as the Elden Beast has a massive HP pool, can move around the battlefield with ease, and has an unparalleled number of attacks and abilities at its disposal.
Elden Ring Xbox Achievements vs. Other Platforms
While the core list of achievements is identical across Xbox, PlayStation, and Steam, there are a few notable differences in presentation:
Xbox: Achievements are tied to Gamerscore points. Each achievement contributes to a player’s overall Gamerscore, with higher-value achievements like story completion or rare item collection offering more points.
PlayStation: Achievements are categorized into Trophies—Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum. Unlocking all other trophies grants the coveted Platinum Trophy.
Steam (PC): Achievements appear as standard in-game badges and are integrated into the Steam platform without a scoring system.
Popular Xbox Achievements:
Elden Lord (50 Gamerscore): Achieve the “Elden Lord” ending.
God-Slaying Armament (30 Gamerscore): Upgrade any armament to its maximum level.
Legendary Armaments (30 Gamerscore): Acquire all 9 legendary weapons.
There are no exclusive achievements per platform, so completionists can aim for 100% on any system:
Elden Lord: Complete the game
God-Slaying Armament: Max out any armament
Legendary Armaments: Find all 9 legendary weapons
Missable Achievements & How to Avoid Losing Them
Some achievements in Elden Ring are permanently missable if certain conditions aren’t met in a playthrough. Here’s what to watch out for:
Ending-Related
- Age of Stars: Must complete Ranni’s questline fully, including defeating Baleful Shadow, obtaining the discarded palace key, and giving Ranni the Dark Moon Ring.
- Lord of Frenzied Flame: Requires meeting the Three Fingers beneath Subterranean Shunning Grounds in Leyndell. Once triggered, this locks you out of all other endings unless you use Miquella’s Needle (endgame optional item).
- How to avoid missing these endings:
Keep a manual or cloud save before triggering major story beats.
Avoid entering the Frenzied Flame door unless you’re ready to commit.
Follow a questline guide for Ranni to ensure completion.
Tips for Unlocking Elden Ring Achievements Faster
- Use Xmod (mod manager/achievement unlocker): A powerful tool to manage achievements and back up save files. Great for testing outcomes or retrieving lost progress, but use responsibly to avoid game integrity issues or bans.
- Download and install the Xmod app.
- Search for Elden Ring within the app.

- Launch the game directly through Xmod.
- Enable your preferred mods or cheats to enjoy a more personalized and optimized gaming experience.

- Leverage backup saves or cloud saves: Before major events (like choosing an ending or finishing a questline), create a backup save to revisit other outcomes without replaying the entire game.
- Follow a comprehensive 100% checklist: Use guides from trusted sources (like Fextralife or MapGenie) to keep track of collectibles, NPCs, and critical path events.
- Prioritize missable achievements: Focus on questline and ending-related achievements early. Some require specific choices that cannot be undone.
- Plan your build: Certain bosses are easier with specific builds (e.g., bleed for Malenia, ranged for Radahn). Efficient builds reduce time spent on difficult fights.
- New Game+ (NG+): Ideal for cleaning up any missed achievements without restarting progress. Levels, weapons, and most items carry over.
Conclusion
Completing all Elden Ring achievements is a challenging but rewarding journey that immerses you deeply into the game’s lore, mechanics, and hidden secrets. From defeating legendary bosses to securing multiple endings and completing intricate NPC questlines, the path to 100% is both rigorous and fulfilling.
For players seeking a more optimized or safeguarded experience, tools like Xmod can be incredibly useful. Xmod helps manage achievement tracking, automate backup saves, and even test outcomes before committing to decisions—an ideal companion for avoiding missables and streamlining your path to full completion. Use it responsibly to enhance gameplay without compromising the spirit of discovery.
With preparation, persistence, and the right tools, you can conquer every corner of the Lands Between and proudly claim every achievement Elden Ring has to offer.
