What Are Avowed Console Commands?

Avowed console commands are text-based inputs that allow players to alter in-game settings, unlock resources, or activate cheat-like effects directly from the developer console. These commands can provide instant access to gold, items, abilities, and more—without the need for modding or external tools. They’re especially useful for players looking to experiment, speed up progression, or simply enjoy a more customized gameplay experience. How to Enable the Console in Avowed

Unlike Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire, where the console is open to both players and developers, Obsidian has disabled the console in Avowed. Restoring console access requires third-party tools.

At the moment, the only tool that enables this is Cheat Engine. To activate the console, you need to run Cheat Engine alongside the game, select “Create Console” under Steam 1.0 > Scripts/Engine, and do this from the main menu in the game. More details are available in the related forum thread.

Some tools like UUUv5 can work, but don’t unlock additional commands. Once activated, you can open the console using the tilde key (~).

Console commands include a command name followed by arguments, which define what the command will do. Arguments are parsed as strings, but often need to convert to specific types such as boolean (using 1, 0, true, or false) or object references (using their name or full asset path).

You can also chain multiple commands together using the | symbol. Sometimes the HUD or menu won’t update immediately after commands, so reopening the menu can help reflect changes.

BugItGo <x> <y> <z> <pitch> <yaw> <roll>*

Teleports you to a coordinate in the current level. Relative to in-game north, +X is east, -X is west, -Y is north, +Y is south, +Z is up and -Z is down. The game is rotated by -90 degrees around the Z axis in order to make this so, since in Unreal, X points “forward”.

The second trio of coordinates are the euler angles that make up the actor rotation. The first angle is pitch, a rotation around the Y-axis (looking up and down), the second is yaw, a rotation around the Z-axis, and the third is roll, which rotates around the X-axis. Typically you’ll only want to change yaw (the second euler coordinate), and leave the rest at 0. If omitted, the angles defaults to 0 0 0.

When used while in ToggleDebugCamera, only the camera is teleported (the actor is kept in place), and the vertical position is ignored.

To teleport within line of sight, use Teleport instead.

  • hand is only used for one-handed weapons and rings. It controls whether the item goes into the main hand (right hand) with 0 or offhand (left hand) with 1. For other items it can be set to 0
  • set is only used for weapons. It determines which weapon loadout the item is equipped into. Note that 0 isn’t always the currently-equipped set. For non-weapon items, it can be set to 0
  • level can be used to equip an item that is upgraded to a specific level, 1 (Common +0/3) through 20 (Legendary +3/3).

Switches to a debug camera, which can fly around in the scene and clip through the world. The player (as a disembodied pair of legs) is kept in place and their inputs are locked.

  • Use WASD controls to navigate.
  • Use Q/Ctrl to go down, and E/Space to go up.
  • Clicking on a position sets the center of the orbit mode, which can be switched to with Shift-O.

Combine with ShowHUD for a psuedo photo mode, although tools like UUUv5 provide more control.

Toggle whether sprinting will consume Stamina (although sprinting will not consume any stamina to begin with)
